Anyone residing in the UK may join Lancashire's library service, which is useful if you frequently visit, work or vacation here and wish to borrow books or use other library services such as computer access.

However, as we widely publicize, certain digital services, including access to subscription resources, eBook and eAudio downloads and eMagazines are limited to Lancashire residents only.

This is because each library authority purchases these services separately from a supplier and are contractually obliged only to permit access to members within their local authority area.
